Bethlehem Steel

Photographs by Shaun O'Boyle

Bethlehem Steel, in Bethlehem PA. shut its doors for business in late 1995. These photographs look at this unique place over a decade later. It is a fascinating place, massive, sprawling, overwhelming in its scale and what it once was able to produce. The Steel was like a microcosm of the country, people came from around the country and from around the globe to work in the mills. These photographs are dedicated to those tens of thousands of people who labored and spent a large part of their lives at The Steel over its 140 year history.
